Still indescribably happy for RotK, PJ and everyone else involved! 11 awards - tying RotK with Ben-Hur & Titanic for most Oscars. And we swept. How freaking awesome is that? Whoooooo! I was so surprised and happy to see RotK win Best Adapted Screenplay. That was the only award I wasn't sure RotK would win - and it did! Incredible. So so awesome! Siiiiiiiiigh. I am a VERY happy fangirl tonight.

Other thoughts on the show (this will be somewhat brief as I'm exhausted and have to work manana)...

Sean Penn. Hmm. Not surprised, but not thrilled either. That's not to say he didn't deserve an award as he was amazing in the movie, but my personal pick was Johnny Depp. Though I would have been happy to see Bill Murray win. Ah well.

Charlize Theron. Haven't seen "Monster" so I have no opinion other than that Charlize looked lovely and I was happy for her.

Tim Robbins. There was no contest. He rocked and fully deserved the award. It was no shock to see him win.

Ummm... the rest of the awards... not really caring. I was just on a high from all the RotK wins.

The show as a whole was decent. Billy Crystal is HILARIOUS and I was so happy to have him back. The movie parodies at the beginning were too funny. Jack Nicholson as Gandalf. Teehee. Robin Williams was funny as well (duh) and the Jack Black & Will Ferrell "You're Boring" duet was CLASSIC. I so want an mp3 of that. Loved the song performances... Alison Krauss sounded gorgeous and Annie Lennox was amazing (not surprising). Loved the performance for "Belleville-Rendevous" - not my pick for best song (gee, can you guess what was?), but it was a blast to listen to and see performed.

And the fashions... there was the good - Julia Roberts, Naomi Watts, Charlize Theron (though I didn't think much of her hair), Nicole Kidman (except for the frilly stuff at the bottom of the dress), Annie Lennox, and Jennifer Garner (though the bangs? EVIL). The okay - Liv Tyler (Liv is gorgeous, no matter what, but the dress was mediocre and the hair was just bad), Renee Zellweger (from the front, gorgeous... from the back, EVIL BOW). And the BAD - at the top of which is Uma Thurman (sorry Uma, but that was just the most godawful outfit ever), followed by Diane Keaton (I like that she's unique, but the outfit was just icky), Jamie Lee Curtis (she's lovely, but the dress was waaaaaay too low), and Sean Young (when does she ever dress well?).

Okay, folks. I've already rambled more than enough. Hopefully that was somewhat coherent. Now I must attempt to watch a bit more of the after show before I zonk out. Toodles!

I don't like the Governator. I'm gonna take a stand and say he's not good. Mangling a Xander quote, but it just matches how this article makes me feel. Just keep hoping San Francisco will win this one because they're doing the right thing. So so happy for all the folks who've been able to get married there. Good for them. No one should be allowed to take that away from them.

Anyways... I was hoping to have a more pleasant article to balance out that one, but no luck in finding one. Perhaps today is just not a good day for people, eh?

In other news, I'm seriously excited about Susan coming to visit at the end of April. She'll be out here for about two weeks, so we'll be doing our typical LA trip, as well as possible trips to Las Vegas and Disneyland. Whoo! Should be a blast. I haven't seen her since August, so this will be lovely. Woot woot.

Less than a week till the Oscars. Still holding true to RotK (I've now seen it four times, btw... hoping to see it two more times before it leaves the theaters). Very happy the cast won the SAG award. How cute is Billy Boyd? And Johnny! Yay Johnny! I still don't think he'll win the Oscar (no matter how much I wish he would), but this was a very cool surprise.

I watched the "Sex & the City" finale last night. I haven't seen all of the past seasons because we didn't have HBO till recently and the request lists for the DVDs are INSANE at the library (someday, someday), but I have been watching this last half of Season 6 and loving it. And the finale held true to the show... it was absolutely wonderful. So pleased and satisfied with the way it ended.

Speaking of endings... WB sucks. Yeah, we all know that, right? I'm still in shock. I know some folks aren't, but I truly thought the show was doing well this year. I've been loving it (as opposed to Seasons 3 and 4, which I loathed) and the ratings have been decent. So, yeah. Oddness. And now there are 50 campaigns or so to get the show picked up at another network, but I'm clueless on which one to support. I've had a link up to supportangel.org since before this whole mess, but now there's savingangel.org and saveangel.org. So confusing. I don't want to put up multiple links for fear that everyone else will become as confused as me. I just wish the fanbase could work together as a whole and not split into factions, each doing their own thing. Anyways. Ending the mini-rant now.

This is not so cool. Censorship, even if it's only a 5 second delay on the Oscars telecast, is horribly, horribly wrong and not at all what this country should be about. All this bullshit over a boob. Jesus. What the fuck is wrong with this country?

So, it's been a while, si si? But we all know I suck, so whatever. I just can't seem to be motivated to blog these days. It's not that I don't have anything to say, I just can't seem to bring myself to put it into words on here. Hmmm. I'm weird, I know.

Been keeping busy at work. Things are going well at Willow Glen, though I still miss everyone at Rosegarden. Last Saturday was the groundbreaking for Rosegarden and it was so lovely to see many of my old co-workers there. Sigh sigh. Everyone at WG is really nice, but it's not the same.

What else, what else? Shasta's 2nd birthday was on January 28th... you can see a picture of her being humilated in the Pet Cam to your left. We did the same to Daphne, but left Dawn alone since she doesn't like Shasta anyway. Shasta had fun getting all her gifts though. She was especially thrilled with Mr. Wilson, a blue octopus that was her first toy when she was a puppy. See how cute and tiny she was back then?
